Privacy

Plain-language summary of what Via stores and why. Last updated October 2026.

Via is built for high-school soccer players and their families. Many of our users are under 18, so we keep what we collect to what the matching and coaching features need, and we never sell it.

What we store

• Your account — email and name, through our sign-in provider (Clerk).
• Your questionnaire answers — graduation year, position, height, home state, hometown and high school (optional), club and league, playing role, SAT/ACT (optional) and preferences.
• Your results and lists — your match results, favorites, watchlist and your recruiting tracker (status and notes per school).
• AI coach chats — your conversations, so you can come back to them.
• News feed activity — which items you've read.

We don't ask for or store GPA, phone numbers, home addresses or payment card numbers.

How it's used

• To match you with college programs and explain why.
• To answer your questions in the AI coach. When you use the coach, your message and a short summary of your profile and matches are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate the answer. They are not used to advertise to you.
• To show your saved schools and related news.

Who processes it

• Clerk — sign-in and accounts.
• Supabase — our database.
• Railway — hosting.
• Google (Gemini) — the AI coach and news sorting.
• Stripe — payments, only if you subscribe.

College and roster data

School facts come from public federal sources (College Scorecard, EADA, NCAA). Team rosters come from colleges' own public roster pages and are shown as the college publishes them. Recruiting levels are program-level summaries built from public rosters and public commitment announcements.

Your choices

• Download your data — Settings → Download my data.
• Delete your account — Settings → Delete my account. This removes your profile, results, lists, chats and news activity from our database, and your sign-in account.
• If you're under 18, please use Via with a parent or guardian's knowledge.

Age

Via is for students 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Beta

Via is in beta. Feedback you send through the Feedback button is stored with your account so we can follow up and fix problems.
